4-7 Month Schedule

Target Daytime Sleep: 3-4 hours

Wake Windows: 1.5-2.5 hours

Around 4-7 months, many babies begin developing a more predictable sleep rhythm as their circadian rhythm matures. While flexibility is still important, this is often the age when a loose routine starts becoming a true schedule.

The schedule below is intended as a general guideline. Every baby is different and may need adjustments based on temperament, sleep needs, feeding needs, and developmental stage.

7:00 AM Wake, open blinds, bottle/nurse, change diaper, change clothes

7:45 AM Breakfast/Solids (omit if not on solids)

8:00 AM Age-appropriate activities, tummy time, time outside, build sleep pressure

8:45 AM Prepare for nap (books, lullaby, dark room, sleep sack, sound machine, etc.)

9:00-10:30 AM Nap #1 (1.5 hours)

10:30 AM Wake, open blinds, bottle/nurse, change diaper

11:00 AM Lunch/Solids (omit if not on solids)

11:15 AM Age-appropriate activities, floor play, and time outside

12:15 PM Prepare for nap (books, lullaby, dark room, sleep sack, sound machine, etc.)

12:30-2:00 PM Nap #2 (1.5 hours)

2:00 PM Wake, open blinds, bottle/nurse, change diaper

3:00 PM Snack/Purees (omit if not on solids)

3:15 PM Age-appropriate activities, tummy time, build sleep pressure

4:00 PM Prepare for nap (books, lullaby, dark room, sleep sack, sound machine, etc.)

4:15-4:45 PM Nap #3 (30 minutes)

4:45 PM Wake, open blinds, bottle/nurse, change diaper

5:30 PM Dinner/Solids (omit if not on solids), family time and age-appropriate activities

6:15 PM Start bedtime routine (bath, lotion, pajamas, feeding, books, cuddles)

7:00 PM Bedtime

Some younger babies may still need a fourth nap, while some older babies may be preparing to transition to two naps. Use this schedule as a general guideline and adjust based on your baby's individual sleep needs.
